
NWVEG Westside Vegan Potluck + Dr. Julie Sinistore: Environmental Impacts of Food
Join Northwest VEG for a community vegan potluck followed by a presentation by Dr. Julie Sinistore on the environmental impacts of food choices. The potluck begins at 5:00 PM, and Dr. Sinistore’s talk starts at 6:15 PM. Timed to coincide with Earth Day, the presentation will explore the effects of food production and consumption on the environment and discuss whether adopting a vegan lifestyle is sufficient to protect endangered ecosystems.​Northwest VEG
About Dr. Julie Sinistore:
Dr. Sinistore has been vegan for 25 years and is an expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). She currently serves as Senior Vice President and Technical Fellow at WSP USA, analyzing the environmental impacts of various products and services. Dr. Sinistore has also taught courses on Life Cycle Thinking and Sustainable Product Design at UC-Berkeley and holds a leadership position with the American Center for LCA (ACLCA) .​Northwest VEG
Potluck Details:
Please bring a plant-based main dish, salad, or dessert (free from meat, eggs, dairy, honey, or other animal products), along with a card listing its ingredients. Also, bring your own plates and utensils. If attending alone, prepare a dish serving 4-6 people; for larger groups, add 4 servings per additional person.Northwest VEG
